MP Hits the 9:30 With a Little Extra Eye Candy

Mary Prankster hit the stage with a new lead guitarist - whoa! Talk about Eye Candy! Hot Patootie, bless my soul! After months of trying to win the affections of Jon, Mary and especially, Phil, I now have a new opportunity to "connect" with the band.

So I was wrong - it wasn't that guy from Colouring Lesson. But this new dude rocked! At first my friends and I were a little skeptical about the new member - would it take away from the Power Pop essence? Would it be overkill like too much garlic? (Then again, there's never such thing as too much garlic). No! New boy enhanced MP in many ways, and I think you fans who missed the show will be pleased with the new experience.
New boy's lead style nearly mimicked the "Roulette Girl" songs to a tee - and it was adorable the way he was singing along to "Blue Skies Over Dundalk" ditties in the beginning.

MP kicked off with a more traditional set - first "Tits and Whisky," not skipping a beat into "Piss Off," then "Student Loan." We heard all the goodies that night, even rare live bits like "Mac and Cheese." And "Breakfast," of course. Too bad Carolina missed it!

Mary's turned into this sexy, cowgirl/jungle woman, yelping and wailing during "Tempest," and extending the "dated" at the end of "The World is Full of Bastards." It's quite adorable!!

And I loved the way Jon E. and New Boy did back up vocals to the girly, emotional "Takes his place." New Boy may not play a violin, but he can do a guitar solo that mirrors the violin intro in that number.

Oh, and I loved the new black tees. Mary, will you ever consider making a tank top? They're more comfy on the arms, especially on a hot summer day.

Okay, nuff said. I just hope New Boy reads this. Thanks, Mary, for plugging my Web page onstage!!!
