Experience the Mary Prankster "Grapevine"

Love him or hate him, Dave E. Rocket has left the band. Oh well. So much for that one. As one fan put it, "what? No more Kermit the frog sounding back up vocals?" And another - "no! I can't believe this is happening!" But while no one will challenge the statement that he's a damn good guitarist, it'll be nice to have the "da da das" in "The World Is Full Of Bastards" back where they belong.

Due to cancellations (duh), we will not have our share of Mary until September... and the new album? "Don't hold your breath," Phil told me earlier this week. But to stave off your MP hunger for a while, Marisa has a little treat for all you fans. Yes! Click here to learn about the new hottie lead guitarist, Dave E. Rocket.

Mary Prankster, the best and raunchiest band in Maryland, parted ways with Jimi's Chicken Shack label Fowl Records yesterday, to avoid a potential "conflict of interest" with former MP Manager and Fowl Co-Owner Richard Burgess.
The band, which parted ways with Burgess earlier this month, said the split, after four years of Fowl service, was absolutiely necessary. So when will Mary get signed to a new label?
"As far as post-Fowl plans go, there has been "interest" from all kinds of folks, but we're taking a bit of a breather for the time being before beginning the process of evaluating our options," says MP Founder, Vocalist and Guitarist Mary Prankster. But the split sure hasn't stopped CowPunk momentum - the will be playing several premiere gigs up and down the east coast, notably the HFSTival at the end of May at Fed Ex Field. How Fowl will recoup losing such a killer band, this news gatherer has not yet determined, but stay tuned. Mary Prankster headlined many Fowl Records gigs, including last December's "A Very Mary Christmas," at the 9:30 Club and "Fowloween" last October.
