my night

The walls were soot
and everytime I sought a breath
my lungs would retire.
I tried to shake loose
peripherally searching for a window
but the day was done.
I could feel the sun
Mocking and taunting me
as it shown rays across the world.
I shoveled and I pushed
and I struggled and I shook
and I clawed and I reached
and I banged and I kicked
and I stopped. and
There I layed and
there I held an empty stare.

Her mouth wide and her tongue clenched
Her eyes turned to water
as she lost support of her knees.
She saw my night.
she tried to clean
and she soaked
but the morning came.
She rejoined the day.
